Island story
Alexander MacDonald (1902–1932) is commemorated at Pioneer Cemetery memorial R4-010. His death registration records his death on Pictou Island on 12 January 1932, describes him as a single farmer, and reports a birth date of 31 March 1902. It names his father as Duncan MacDonald and maiden mother as Jessie MacDonald, both Island-born. This corroborates the existing census-supported father relationship and identifies his mother as Duncan’s first wife Jessie, who died in 1910. The informant Hector MacDonald is explicitly recorded as having no relationship to him; the surname does not establish kinship. Burial on Pictou Island is recorded for 14 January, without identifying an exact plot. The birth date is reported retrospectively on the death return.

Incomplete names and identity candidates
Name and accepted-alias matches appear before initials-only possibilities. Within each group, records with no known date conflict and an accepted connection to the selected relative appear first. This is an evidence ordering, not a probability. Compare generation, known relatives, census units, memorials and dated sources in each record. No suggestion changes a family relationship.

195 enumerated residents in 37 original census family units. These are source households, not inferred genealogical branches or street addresses. Cancelled entries are excluded; source spellings and recorded ages are retained.
A person-to-household crosswalk has not been accepted here for this selection. Browse the source units independently below.
Other census years remain in the existing research records pending equivalent public field and identity review.
