Roger Point — A historic boat landing and the Island end of the later documented submarine-cable corridor to Widow Point. The cable symbol marks the approximate locality; the precise landing of the original 1921 cable remains unconfirmed.14. East End Fish Shanties — A surviving working-shore landscape where seasonal fishermen stayed and boats, traps and fishing gear were handled. The East End was associated with lobster-factory activity by the 1890s, and fish shanties documented from the mid-twentieth century remain on the shoreline and continue in use today.15. West End Cannery — read the PIHS place article16. East End Cannery — Lobster-factory activity is documented at the East End by the 1890s. Historical research suggests approximate shore locations, but exact building footprints remain uncertain. The cannery history is distinct from the surviving fish shanties, which remain in use.17. Asadalia Reef — A locally known reef southwest of the East End breakwater, visible from shore and remembered by Island fishermen as the site of a shipwreck. Boats keep clear, especially at low tide. The map marks the approximate locality.18. East End Reef — A nearshore reef at the northern end of the Island, known locally as Seal Rock.19. East End Breakwater — The East End Breakwater sheltered the working shore and harbour.
