Island story
Olive Jean MacLean MacDonald is commemorated at Pioneer Cemetery memorial R1-004 as the wife of James D. MacDonald, with the years 1914–1946. Her original marriage registration records Olive Jean MacLean and James Duncan MacDonald marrying at St Andrews manse in Pictou on 24 September 1936. Both were Island-born and resident there. Olive was a twenty-one-year-old cook, with parents William MacLean and Cora Jane McCallum; James was a twenty-nine-year-old fisherman, with parents Angus Hector MacDonald and Adelina MacFarlane. A contemporary birth registration for Olive Jean, dated 5 October 1915 on Pictou Island, names William and Cora Jane. The matching parent pair and adult marriage support her identity, but the 1915 birth conflicts with the memorial’s 1914 and remains explicit. James’s later marriage to Lavina Glover belongs to a subsequent household and is kept separate.

Incomplete names and identity candidates
Name and accepted-alias matches appear before initials-only possibilities. Within each group, records with no known date conflict and an accepted connection to the selected relative appear first. This is an evidence ordering, not a probability. Compare generation, known relatives, census units, memorials and dated sources in each record. No suggestion changes a family relationship.
