PIHS local identification confirms that the J. stands for Janet, and the obituaries of sons Elwood Cameron and Robert George identify their mother as Janet MacDonald Rankin. The combined evidence therefore supports Florence Janet, known as Janet, as the woman named on the memorial. Her own parents and exact marriage chronology remain open.
