John L. MacLean — Charles/Annabell son

John L. MacLean — Charles/Annabell son

John L. MacLean belongs to the Charles McLean and Annabell McCallum source family. The 1901 Island index records John L., six, as a son in their household and reports 6 September 1894 as his birthday. The original 1911 census records John L., sixteen, bornSeptember 1894, as a brother of household head William, with widowed mother Anna B. present. The matching initial, month, age progression and family establish continuity of this existing source-family child. The earlier 1874 John birth is a different cohort and is not evidence for this John L. His later adult life remains unestablished.

Gladys Regina Turple (1900–1970)

Gladys Regina Turple (1900–1970)

A contributed family tree identifies Gladys Regina Turple (1900–1970) as the wife of Charles Fraser MacLean and mother of Gladys Maxine MacLean; those lifespan dates and the daughter’s identity remain family-tree evidence. Their original marriage registration records a wedding at Pictou on 4 November 1921. Gladys Regina was twenty-one, born at Murray River, Prince Edward Island, and residing on Pictou Island. Her parents are recorded as Elias Turple and Sadie Turple; the mother’s surname is reproduced as written. Charles Fraser McLean was twenty-four, an Island-born and resident fisherman, with parents Charles and Annabelle McLean. This marriage does not by itself resolve later variant maternal names or establish military service.
