Dolina MacCallum
1888–1975
Also recorded as Dollie MacCallum · Dolina Maud MacLean MacCallum
Island story
Dolina Maud MacLean MacCallum appears in Island records under both Dolina and the familiar form Dollie. The early-2000s cemetery transcription preserves her maiden name, MacLean, and the dates 1888–1975. In 1921 Dollie, age thirty-three, appears with Ward MacCallum and children Ona, Andrew and Isabel. A decade later the census records Dolina, age forty-three, explicitly as Ward’s wife and as a homemaker; the household then also included Carl, infant granddaughter Lois and Ward’s brother Chester. Together these records trace a stable Island household while preserving the name forms used in different sources. The accepted PIHS family reconstruction, drawing on the Daniel Hector MacLean family tree and existing cemetery and census comparisons, places Dolina Maud among the children of Charles McLean and Annabell McCallum McLean. This is family-created genealogical evidence, rather than a newly inspected birth certificate. It connects this biography to the existing Charles–Annabell household without replacing the dates preserved by the memorial or resolving every same-name family entry.
