Island story
As a student minister, Archibald Sutherland became an important advocate and organizer for a permanent church on Pictou Island. He worked with Island families and a wider Presbyterian mission and fundraising network. The church was later named Sutherland Memorial Church in recognition of his contribution to this shared community effort.
