Charles Alfred Turple

Charles Alfred Turple is commemorated in the Pioneer Cemetery at R6-001 with his wife R. Jane Harris Turple and granddaughter Jean Marcella MacMillan. The memorial records Charles as 1870–1950, while another cemetery-derived source gives 1869 as his birth year; PIHS retains that discrepancy rather than silently choosing between them. Existing research identifies Charles as a high-value link to the Turple family and the Island’s transportation and iceboat history, but the person-specific evidence is not yet rich enough for a longer biography.
