These connections are stated in marker transcriptions and are shown separately from broader family history. Additional vital, census, church or family records may add detail.

Robertson / MacFarlane

Allena and James Robertson

James is identified as Allena’s son; Allena is described as the daughter—and James the grandson—of Allan and Annie MacFarlane.

This is the clearest transcription bridge between two separate plotted positions: R9-016 and R9-017.

The original Nova Scotia marriage registration records Allan MacFarlane and Annie Wilkins McCallum marrying at Pictou on 21 July 1905 and identifies both as Pictou Island-born residents. Delayed birth registrations independently confirm them as the parents of Jessie Ann (born 26 September 1909) and Wilma Kathlyn (born 5 April 1921). Wilma’s 1944 marriage registration and Susan Danella’s 1945 marriage registration repeat the parent connection; Thelma MacFarlane witnessed both marriages. These records support the R9-017 household, but Allena and James still require their own civil records.

About family connections

Family connections here follow the inscriptions and linked records. A shared surname or nearby stone alone does not establish a relationship.

A family connection across two markers

Robertson–MacFarlane across R9-017 and R9-016

One inscription at R9-016 identifies Allena as the daughter of Allan and Annie MacFarlane and James as their grandson, connecting it to the household named at R9-017.

What the inscription says: Allena and James are connected to Allan and Annie. Related records: Allan and Annie’s marriage registration, Jessie’s and Wilma’s birth registrations, and Wilma’s and Susan’s marriage registrations independently document the Pictou Island household, but they are not Allena’s or James’s own civil records.

R9-017 · Allan and Annie MacFarlane household

R9-016 identifies Allena Mae Robertson as the daughter of Allan and Annie MacFarlane and James William Robertson as Allena’s son and their grandson. Their marker therefore connects directly to the Allan and Annie household at R9-017. Allan and Annie’s 1905 marriage registration and their daughters’ civil registrations independently document the same family.

Boundary: No identified photograph of Allena or James was located. The collateral civil records corroborate Allan and Annie’s household, but they are not Allena’s birth record and do not identify James. Chapter 20 and the controlled original-record audit establish John as ‘Buck’ and Robertson as ‘Bert’; neither identification resolves Allena’s own record gaps or the James Stewart/George Stewart Robertson father-name conflict.

Some surname groups do not yet have an identified portrait or longer story. Their individual marker photographs and transcriptions remain available through the records.
