Family connections and Island stories
Bill Cole and Lena Bill’s family
William C. “Bill Cole” MacDonald and Willena “Lena Bill” MacCallum had three children in their 1931 household: Cameron, Janet and Lorraine. Family history identifies Lena Bill as the daughter of Hugh/Hugo “Little Hughie” MacCallum and Flora MacCallum.
Their son Cameron may be Cameron Walter MacDonald, who married Clara Agnes Cheverie in Pictou on 28 February 1949 and travelled to the Island by ski-plane that day. The identification is probable, but not certain.
Lorraine MacDonald, pictured with Rena Ferguson on the South Lighthouse steps, may be their daughter Lorraine.
