Overview

Island story

Annie Jennie Glover, born MacCallum, is commemorated with Edward Glover at Pioneer Cemetery memorial R8-007. Their original marriage entry records Annie J. MacCallum and Edward Glover marrying on 8 July 1913, naming her parents as Charles and Annie. Census records follow Edward’s wife Anna J. in the Island household with children Ruth, Lavina and Elmer. In a sworn statement made on 13 March 1950, Annie Campbell MacCallum, widow of Charles, named her daughter Anna Jennie MacCallum and recalled her birth on Pictou Island on 13 August 1894. Read with the family’s other records, this identifies her parents as Charles McCallum and Annie Frances Campbell. The marriage entry gives the bride’s age as twenty-one, which conflicts with the 1894 birth year; that discrepancy remains unresolved. Her memorial records 1894–1932, but the original death registration and precise burial location have not been established.
