Edward “Eddie” Glover

Edward “Eddie” Glover was a Pictou Island boatman and winter mail carrier whose family is closely tied to the Island’s iceboat and transportation history. The 1921 and 1931 censuses place Edward with wife Anna and children including Ruth, Lavina and Elmer. PIHS historical material remembers Eddie for carrying winter mail and navigating the dangerous seasonal crossing.
