Cameron Walter MacDonald

Island story

Cameron Walter MacDonald grew up in the William C. “Bill Cole” MacDonald and Willena “Lena Bill” MacCallum family on Pictou Island. The 1931 census records Cameron, age eight, in that household with sisters Janet and Lorraine. In 1949 a Cameron Walter MacDonald married Clara Agnes Cheverie and travelled to Pictou Island by ski-plane on the same day, creating a striking link between family history and the Island’s changing winter transportation. PIHS church remembrance also includes a Cameron MacDonald in wartime service, but that service identity still requires direct confirmation before it is attached to this biography.
