Island story

Julia May Patterson is commemorated on the shared Patterson monument at Pioneer Cemetery R4-015, which records 1904–1926. Her death registration records her death on Pictou Island on 17 October 1926, aged twenty-one, and describes her as single and doing housework at home. It names her father Charles D. Patterson, born on the Island, and her mother Agnes MacCallum, born in Pictou. Charles supplied the information and is explicitly identified as her father. This evidence resolves the relationship previously left open in the biography and supports the existing family links. The record reports a birth on 11 November 1904; that information is retrospective. Burial on Pictou Island on 19 October 1926 is recorded without naming a cemetery or plot. It does not establish a Ruffie nickname.
