Chester MacCallum: farming and ferry work

The 1931 census transcription records Chester MacCallum, aged thirty-six, as a farmer and Ward’s brother. Ruth Munro names both among the children of Little Dan and Susan.

Munro describes Chester’s ferry work beginning with Archie in 1921, followed by a partnership with William C. MacDonald, and continuing until the 1933 storm. His story links Island farming with transportation across the Strait.
