Island story
Anne or Anna Campbell MacCallum was the wife of ‘Deacon’ Charles MacCallum and mother of a family that included Margaret MacCallum MacDonald and John Malcolm MacCallum. PIHS health research independently supports her identity within Margaret’s family. In the store history that John Malcolm supplied to Ruth Munro, Mrs. Charles MacCallum brought an extra supply of groceries from the mainland on 4 September 1913 and began selling them from the family kitchen. As trade increased, a separate shop building was constructed near the house. Munro describes this as the Island’s first grocery store; that priority is an attributed local-history account. Her record documents household-based retail work within a farming family.

Incomplete names and identity candidates
Name and accepted-alias matches appear before initials-only possibilities. Within each group, records with no known date conflict and an accepted connection to the selected relative appear first. This is an evidence ordering, not a probability. Compare generation, known relatives, census units, memorials and dated sources in each record. No suggestion changes a family relationship.
