Katherine MacKenzie Rankin

Island story
Katherine MacKenzie Rankin is recorded with her husband Lauchlin Rankin on the Pioneer Cemetery monument at R1-012, which gives her years as 1881–1958. In the 1931 census she appears in the same Pictou Island household with Lauchlin, their son Edward and her aunt Ellen MacKenzie. Together, the cemetery and census evidence provide a strong identity and family link, while a fuller account of Katherine’s own life remains to be developed.
