Daily Patriot, 23 February 1903 — Minto passengers at Pictou Island

The report states that foreman Milton Welsh landed 19 Minto passengers on Pictou Island while 35 remained aboard. Most of those landed intended to continue toward High Bank, approximately 17 miles away, in dories belonging to the lobster factories. It does not establish that the crossing was completed in those dories or identify which factory owned a dory. Credit: UPEI Robertson Library, University Archives and Special Collections.
