Helen Erma MacCallum appears in the 1931 Pictou Island census at age nine as a daughter of Lauchie D. MacCallum. Her Pioneer Cemetery memorial at R2-008 records Helen Erma MacCallum, 1921–1939, and explicitly identifies her as a daughter of Laughlin and Sophie MacCallum. A nearby footstone at R3-008 reads “HELEN.” PIHS has reconciled the monument, footstone and census record as the same person. Her short life is currently documented primarily through family and cemetery evidence, so the Person record remains intentionally concise.
