Sophie Phillips MacCallum

Sophie Phillips MacCallum is commemorated with her husband, Lauchie D. MacCallum, on the family memorial at R2-009 in the Pioneer Cemetery. The monument records Sophie as 1894–1925. By the 1931 census, Lauchie’s household included their children John, Ralph and Helen, providing a strong family bridge between the cemetery and the surviving census record. A nearby footstone marked MOTHER at R3-009 is strongly supported as Sophie’s associated marker because it follows the Ralph and Helen footstones in the same family sequence. This account keeps that identification confidence-labelled as an open question because the footstone itself says only “Mother.”
