Lorne Ballem MacMillan

Island story

Lorne Ballem MacMillan grew up in the Donald William and Anna Jane MacMillan family on Pictou Island. The 1931 census records a two-year-old Loran MacMillan in that household, and a 1985 federal fishing licence directory names Lorne MacMillan of Pictou Island with the vessel Donald Maria. Together with the 1928–1995 Church Cemetery memorial at C-011, these records strongly support continuity from Island childhood into the later fishery.
