Island story
Charlotte Margaret MacLean married Archibald “Archie” MacDonald and raised a family on Pictou Island. The 1931 census records their household with children Lexie, Henry, Frank and Logan. PIHS family research also connects Charlotte to Torquil and Isabella/Bell MacLean. Through Archie’s East Lighthouse service, Charlotte’s life belongs to the family side of lighthouse keeping as well as to the MacLean and MacDonald family histories. She and Archie are commemorated together at Church Cemetery memorial C-002.
